Respecting Success by Comparing Baseball Hall of Fame and Olympic Cross Country Skiing

Baseball Hall of Fame voting was recently completed and Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Roger Clemens were each denied selection into the Hall because of performance enhancing drug use (allegedly, but not admitted). When I think of these three individuals and others that have used PEDs, I also think of Jessie Diggins who has just completed the 2023 Tour de Ski with might be a considered a disappointing result and after having taken 2nd in points standings in the 2022 Tour. Jessie looks to maximize her physical and mental capabilities naturally.

In this video, I discuss how each of those two camps measured what success was and how you as a leader can get away from looking at the KPI dashboard as your success measure and lead in areas of real importance that will achieve even greater results.
